The Manufacturers’ Association of Israel (MAI) is a non-profit, statutory public organization established under Israeli law.
MAI is registered as an Ottoman Association (Aguda Otomanit) under the supervision of the Israeli Ministry of Justice – Registrar of Non-Profits, registration number 580036681. This legal framework applies to public and representative organizations established prior to 1980 and is distinct from commercial or for-profit entities.

The Association is officially recognized by the State of Israel as the representative employers’ organization of the Israeli industrial sector, in accordance with the Collective Agreements Law, 1957, and is authorized to participate in national collective bargaining and regulatory processes.
MAI operates exclusively on a non-profit basis, does not distribute profits, and does not engage in commercial activity. Its mission is to represent, promote, and support the interests of Israeli industry in the public, economic, regulatory, and international arenas.
Internationally, MAI is the sole recognized representative of Israeli industry in the International Labour Organization (ILO), within the UN’s tripartite framework, and in Business at OECD (BIAC), as Israel’s official member organization.
