Food Industries Association

The Food Industries Association of Israel (FIAI), under the Federation of Israeli Industries, serves as the umbrella organization representing the food and foodtech industries in Israel. It encompasses over 250 food companies, which collectively produce around 90% of packaged food manufactured in Israel.
Among the association's members are multinational corporations operating in Israel, small and medium-sized food producers (constituting approximately 75% of the members), as well as foodtech and innovation startups. The association's membership spans across more than 20 different segments within the food industry.

FIAI is the leading representative body for the food and foodtech industry in its interactions with governmental policymakers and the Knesset (Israeli Parliament). Its objectives include enhancing the competitiveness of the food industry in Israel, advocating for smart regulatory measures to improve food safety and quality while reducing regulatory burdens on manufacturers (including adopting European regulations), contributing to the fight against the high cost of living, ensuring food security, and minimizing food waste.
FIAI also initiates and participates in the Israeli ecosystem, collaborating with academia, organizations promoting healthy lifestyles, food rescue projects, innovation advancement, foodtech development, and more.

The association deals with providing solutions to the significant challenges of the food and foodtech industry, offering a comprehensive and holistic response to its members, including:

  1. Comprehensive Regulatory Assistance: Through the association's committees including the Regulatory Committee, the Professional Committee, the Kosher Committee, and the Nutrition Forum, it provides broad regulatory support.
  2. Professional Hub for the Food Industry: Consisting of over 20 industry-specific forums such as meat, dairy, wineries and wine, coffee, soft drinks, catering, baked goods and confectionery, chocolate and sweets, snacks, and more.
  3. Personal Guidance for Small and Medium Manufacturers: The association offers guidance and consultation to small and medium-sized manufacturers.
  4. Support for Foodtech Companies: Supporting foodtech companies in the transition from development to production and connecting them with local food companies through assistance in overcoming regulatory obstacles, and providing assistance during the establishment of production activities in Israel.
  5. Promotion of Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles: The association promotes health and well-being through nutrition and lifestyle choices.
  6. Building Trust and Strengthening Image: It aims to enhance trust in and the image of the food industry and the association itself.
